Service Description

For more information about individual art therapy sessions, please refer to the "Participant Information - Individual Sessions" document and the Privacy Policy document linked in the green box below. Art therapy uses creative expression to explore and express thoughts, feelings, and experiences. A person-centred approach to art therapy means that you are the expert of your own experience. Your choices, insights, and pace guide the process, with support, and the art becomes a way for you to explore what feels meaningful and important to you. Creating art can help access parts of your experience that may be difficult to express in words. It can be particularly helpful in processing emotions, building self-understanding, viewing a situation from a different perspective, and supporting healing after stress or trauma. You do not need any art skills as the focus is on the process, rather than the product. If you have an online art therapy session you will need to bring paper and something you like to draw or paint with, such as crayons or pencils. You don't need many art supplies as it is about the creative process, rather than the art that is produced.
